We are very excited to announce some very big changes to 12 Inches of Sin.
Due to COVID-19, we had to cancel 12 inches of Sin VIII. Although we were disappointed to do so, it did provide the opportunity to assess what was working, what was not and how could we make 12 better! A lot of thought went into international engagement and maximizing the experience for both artists and patrons.
Moving forward, the exhibition will be held online. Artwork will no longer need to be shipped. We will be sharing examples of art submissions on our website to inspire and perhaps acquire. Two cash prizes will be awarded! A $1200 cash prize will be awarded for Best in Show and a $120 cash prize will be awarded for Le Salon Des Refusés Du Péché. An art catalog will be produced showcasing invited artists and will be available at Issuu. The online art catalog is free to enjoy and a print version will be available to purchase through Issuu.
Laura Henkel, the Executive Director and Curator of Sin City Gallery, will judge the exhibition. It has been a tremendous honor to have so many incredible judges across industries to be a part of the exhibition. Because of them, provoking exhibitions were enjoyed by all. It is Henkel’s intention that this new direction for 12 will provide greater support to artists, as well as champion the genre for all modern provocateurs.
Last, but not least, we are limiting 1 entry per artist with 12 submissions to participate. This new entry requirement allows for a comprehensive review of each artist’s aesthetic, scope of work and skill. The entry fee is $50 with an additional PayPal processing fee.
We hope you are excited about these changes as we are! We look forward to 12 Inches of Sin VIII and sharing the best contemporary art with you. Please visit 12 Inches of Sin for more information.
